The Federal Skilled Worker Program is for economic class applicants who can easily transferred to Canadian Labour Market on the basis of their high level of education and significant work experience in any field. The candidates must be eligible first for Express Entery. Then after the profile of the candidate is created. After filling all the information, the scores are automatically assigned to the candidate using the Comprehensive Ranking System.There is a certain criteria to meet in order to qualify under this category. Poof of language proficiency (CLB 7) is required. Must have Educational credential Assessment of his secondary or post-secondary degree. Must have worked for continuously in a full time paid position in the same job for at least 1 year in the past 10 years in NOC O,A or B and the intent to settle outside Quebec. In the Federal Skilled Worker category the point system is used to assess eligibility of candidates. To be eligible under Federal Skilled Worker Program the Applicants must obtain 67 points out of 100. This point system is different from the Comprehensive Ranking System which is used to rank candidates in Express Entry on CRS point system.

IRCC officers have discretionary powers to accommodate those applicants who receive scores only slightly below the pass mark only if they can demonstrate to the visa officer that they will successfully establish themselves economically in Canada and have sufficient fund, skill and experience.
Qualifying for the Federal Skill Worker is only the first step in immigrating to Canada. After qualifying the applicant must create a candidate profile in Express Entry and should wait till an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence is received and then finally submitting their application for Permanent Residency.
